Question 898954: You invested a total of $35,000 at 3% and
4.5%
simple interest. During one year, the two accounts earned $1350. How much did you invest in each account?
Answer by richwmiller(17219) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x+y=35000,
0.03*x+0.045*y=1350
x=35000-y
0.03*(35000-y)+0.045*y=1350
1050-0.03y+0.045*y=1350
0.015*y=300
y= 20000
x=35000-y
x=15000
check
0.03*15000+0.045*20000=1350
450+900.0=1350
1350.0=1350
ok
