If they share the rent 50/50, then it doesn't matter what they make. Half the rent is 1500/2, or 750 each.

If you want to know what percentage of their income each will pay toward it, it is 750 (rent)/2000 (total), or 37.5% for Jean. For his wife, 750/2000 or 25%.
