An actor invests some money at 8%, and $47000 more than twice the amount at 12%. The total annual interest earned from the investment is $36680. How much
let amount be x at 8%
47000+2x at 12%
Interest = 36,680
8%x+12%(2x+47000)=36680
multiply by 100
8x+12(2x+47000)=3668000
8x+24x+564000=3668000
32x=3668000-564000
32x=3104000
x=97,000 at8%
2x+47000= 241000 @ 12%
check
(8%*97000)+(12%*241000)=36680
