Hi,

Let x represent the number of adult tickets   

 Question States***

 $5x + $3(50-x) = $190

        $2x = $40

         x = 20,the number of adult tickets.  There were 30 children's tickets 

CHECKING our answer***

   $100 + $90 = $190
