Answer by rothauserc(4718) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
stock investment is x and bonds invested is x/2, therefore
x + x/2 = 21000
3x/2 = 21000
3x = 42000
x = 14000
$14,000 invested in stocks
$7,000 invested in bonds
