Start: S = M
S-4s = 5p
M-2s = 11p

Substitute for S and for M::
4s+5p = 2s+11p
2s = 6p

Sam at start::
S = 2(2s) + 5p
S = 2(6p)+5p
S = 17p (amt Sam had at the start).
