Question 843470: $270 is Divided among three people Tom, Oliver and Charlie. Tom will receive three times as much as Oliver and Oliver will receive twice as much as Charlie
How much will they each receive?
Answer by TheInstructor(29) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let Oliver = x
Tom = 3x
Charlie = x/2
Therfore x/2 + 6x/2 + 2x/2 = 540/2
x + 6x + 2x = 540
9x = 540
Therefore x = 60
Oliver = 60
Charlie: 30
Tom: 180
