Hi,
If the number of adult tickets sold was 10 less than twice the number of student tickets
And...A total of 278 tickets were sold
number of adult tickets
number of student tickets
number of children tickets 0r
Question states*** total revenue of $1,300
$6(2x-10) + $3.50x + $2.50(278-3x+10) = $1300
12x - 60 + 3.5x + 2.5*278 - 7.5x + 25 = 1300
8x = 1300 + 60 -695-25
8x = 640
x = 80, number of student tickets, 150 Adult and 48 Children
CHECKING our answer***
$900 + $280 + $120 = $1300
