Answer by Edwin McCravy(20060)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
                 |    Phps    | percent |   Annual    |
                 |   invested | decimal |   income    |
-----------------|------------|---------|-------------|
First investment |      x     |  0.10   |    0.10x    |
Second investment|   5000-x   |  0.15   | 0.15(5000-x)|
------------------------------------------------------

                    0.10x = 2[0.15(5000-x)]
                    0.10x = 0.30(5000-x)
                    0.10x = 1500-0.30x
                    0.40x = 1500
                        x =
                        x = 3750

                   5000-x = 5000-3750 = 1250.

So he should invest Php3750 at 10% and Php1250 at 15%
