Gabe Amodeo,a nuclear physicist, needs 50 liters of a 60% acid solution. 

he currently has a 20% solution and a 70% solution. 

Let  and represent the amount of the 70% and 20% solutions respectively

Question states***

 .70x + .20(50-x) = .60*50L    |multiplying thru by 100

  70x + 20(50-x) = 3000L

       50x = 2000L

         x =40 L of 70% solution

and  is 10 L of 20% solution
