Answer by vanaynay26(3) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You are going to make an equation that goes like this:
11x+4y=154,000
But you also need a scond equation and that will be:
x+y=28,000 ------> y=-x+28,000
Now, you will put it in the first equation like this:
11x+4(-x+28,000)=154,000
11x-4x+112,000=154,000
7x+112,000=154,000
-112,000 -112,000
7x=42,000
__ ____
7 7
x=6,000 tickets sold at $11
Now, you will find out how many for $4
11(6,000)+4y=154,000
66,000+4y=154,000
-66,000 -66,000
4y=88,000
__ _____
4 4
y= 22,000 tickets sols at $4
