Question 800088: A local salesman receives a base salary of $700 monthly. He also receives a commission of 11% on all sales over $1150. How much would he have to sell in a month if he needed to have a monthly income of $1900?
Answer by mananth(16946) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
let the total sales be x
he gets 11% on sales above 1150
commission = 11%(x-1150)
1900= 700+11%(x-1150)
1900 = 700 +11%x-11*11.50
1200 +126.50 =11%x
1426.50=11%x
142650 =11x
x= 12968
