how should php 11 560 be invested so that the income from one investment at 10 percent shall be twice the income from another investment at 12 percent
:
Let x = amt invested at 10%
then
(11560-x) = amt invested at 12%
:
Twice the 12% income = 10% income
2[.12(x)] = .10(11560 - x)
.24x = 1156 - .10x
.24x + .10x = 1156
.34x =1156
x = 1156/.34
x = $3400 at 12%
then
11560 - 3400 = $8160 at 10%
:
:
Check this
.12(3400) = $408
.10(8160) = $816
