Last year there were 24 boys and 20 girls on the school bus this year the number of boys decreased by 25% but the number of girls increased by 10% did the number of bus riders increase or decrease?
The cookies recipe needs 3/4 cups of sugar and 1/8 cups of butter. Alice puts in 1 cup of butter by mistake how much sugar will be needed?

so, 3/4 of a cup for 1 1/2 tsp flavour

Now 18 boys on bus
10% of 20 girls = 2 girls
Now 22 girls on bus
New Total = 18 + 22 = 40
Old total = 24 + 20 = 44
So a decrease in the travellers.

Alice puts in 1 cup of butter (8 x as much)
So, she will require to add 8 * 3/4 cups of sugar.
