A ratio of 3 parts to 2 parts means that of every 3+2=5 parts, wife get 3/5 and son gets 2/5, sooooo
(3/5)*$18,000= $10,800--amount wife gets
(2/5)*$18,000=$7200---amount son gets
CK
10800/7200=108/72=3/2
Hope this helps---ptaylor
