:
let x = the final test grade
counts as 3, so use 3x and treat it like you are averaging 8 grades
:
= 70
multiply both sides by 8, add up the grades
3x + 344 = 8(70)
3x = 560 - 344
3x = 216
x = 216/3
x = 72 to get a c (70)
