   5x + 10(x+5) = 575¢   Solve for x and also determine (x+5), the number of 10¢ stamps

5x +10(x+5)= 575

5x+10x+50 = 575

15x +50 = 575

....-50..=-50

15x.....= 525

/15......=/15

x=35; There is 35 5-cent stamps.

35+5= 40; There is 40 10-cent stamps.
