Question 618254: the hot dog shack sold 359 hot dogs during their 2-day grand opening celebration on Saturday and sunday. the number of hot dogs sold on sunday was 13 less than twice the number of hot dogs sold on saturday. how many hot dogs did it sell on sunday?
Answer by Maths68(1474)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let x be the hot dogs sold on Saturday
On Sunday hot dog sold = 2x-13
Given
------
Total hot dog sold = 359

(Saturday sale) + (Sunday Sale) = 359
(x)+(2x-13)=359
x+2x-13=359
3x=359+13
3x=372
x=372/3
x=124

On Saturday hot dog sold = x = 124
On Sunday hot dog sold = 2x-13 = 2(124)-13 = 248-13 = 235
