A group of 21 friends each had the same 8 coins. altogether the group had $8.61. if each friend had onlyquarters, dimes, or pennies, how many pennies did they have altogether?

If each of the 21 people had the same set of coins, then they each contributed the same amount of money, namely $8.61 divided by 21, or $0.41. The only way to make 41 cents out of 8 coins consisting of quarters, dimes, and pennies is 1 quarter, 1 dime, and 6 pennies. So, 6 pennies times 21...
