Answer by jim_thompson5910(35256)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
6% on the first $100,000 ----> 0.06*100,000 = $6,000

plus 5% on $101,000to $200,00 ---> 0.05 * (200,000 - 101,000) = $4,950

plus 6% on anything over $200,000 ---> 0.06*(256,000 - 200,000) = $3,360

Add up the individual results: $6,000 + $4,950 + $3,360 = $14,310

So the total commission Century 21 made was $14,310
