Answer by mananth(16946)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
part I 11.00% per annum ---x
part II -4.00% per annum ---y

x + 1 y= 35000 ------------------------1
11.00% x + -4.00% y= 1900
Multiply by 100
11 x + -4 y=190000.00 --------2

Multiply (1) by -11
we get

-11 x -11 y=-385000.00

Add this to (2)

-15 y= =-195000

divide by-15

y = 13000 investment at (4.00% )
Balance 22000 investment at 11.00%
CHECK
13000 --------- -4.00% ------- -520.00
22000 ------- 11.00% ------- 2420.00
Total -------------- 1900.00
