Yes you did get the right answer, however you had a negative number for X. in the first step you add 7.5X instead of subtrabtracting. In this way you wont get a negative number and will help you reduce any mistakes that often occur when working with and converting negative numbers.
so
$600=$425+7.5X
$600-425=7.5X
$175=7.5X
