Question 536833: The value, v of a shop-keeps inventory software program is given by v = -1/2t + 6, where t is the number of years since the shop-keep bought the program. What is it worth 6 years aftr it's first purchase? so far I have: t=0 and v=6, is this correct? also I need to see the graphing, everytime I try it is not right... can you help please? I'm 52 and it's been a while since I've had to do this... thank you, have a happy day!!
Answer by KMST(5328) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
When bought the value was 6.
Six years after the software was bought and
If you plot value versus time (in years) since the program was bought you will have something like this (pretend it's t instead of x for the horizontal axcis scale and v instead of y in the vertical axis):
is the equation of a straight line that goes through y=6 (or v=6) as a value for the function when the independent variable is x=0 (or t=0). and goes down by 1/2 each time you go 1 unit to the right (one unit increase in x or t).
