You can put this solution on YOUR website! If 40% was consumed, then the 1215 left over is 60% of the original amount.

The formula a = pb works for any percent problem you encounter:
a is the "part", p is the "percent" (as a decimal), b is the "whole"
1215 = .6b {substituted given information into formula, changing 60% to .6}
b = 2,025 {divided both sides by .6}
