300d + 225p = 217500
d + p = 850
300d + 191250 - 225d = 217500
75d = 217500 - 191250

p = 850 - d
p = 500 (number of Ponderosa pines bought)

350*300 + 225*500 = 217500
105000 + 112500 = 217500
217500 = 217500
