the 1st equation is correct
you need to SUBSTITUTE the equivalent values (in terms of B) for A and C
___ "Profits in the fourth quarter for COmpany A were 78.2% of that of Company B" ___ A = (78.2%)B
___ "Profits in the fourth quarter for Compnay C were 103.8% of Company B" ___ C = (103.8%)B
.782 B + B + 1.038 B = 324300
