The number of two dollars bills is 9 more than the number of five dollar bills

to pay for the same purchase

Let x and (x+9) represent the numer of $5 and $5 bills respectively

Question states***  

  5*x = 2(x+9)

Solving for x

  3x = 18

   x = 6, the number of $5 bills.  15 is th enumber of $2 Bills

CHECKING our Answer***

 $30 = $2*15
