You can put this solution on YOUR website! A bus can be chartered for a fixed price by 30 students, if 10 students are added the cost of the charter remains the same but the cost per student is reduced by $2.00. What is the cost of the charter?
Let charter cost be "x".
Original cost per student is x/30
After adding 10 students cost per student is x/40
EQUATION:
old cost per = new cost per +2
x/30 =x/40+2
40x = 30x+2(30)(40)
10x = 2400
x= $240 (cost of charter)
