Question 281303: At a going out of business sale, furniture is selling at 30% off the regular price. In addition, red-tagged items are reduced by an additional $30. If Ramona purchased a red-tagged item and paid $120, find its regular price.
I came up with 0.3x - 30 = 120...how would you form this equation.
Thanks a bunch!
Alex

(120+30)/.7=214.28
120 + 30= THE PRICE AFTER THE 30% DISCOUNT
150 IS 70% OF THE ORIGINAL PRICE.
