Question 275477: The number of items sold at a price of x dollars per item is 2000-300x. It costs 8 dollars to make the item.
What price should be charged to make the most profit?
I would think it would be the profit (2000-300x)-cost 8(2000-300x) and then solve for x but this is not right..any help would be great!
thanks!
Answer by vash464(1) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Profit= x(2000-300x), not (2000-300x), since (2000-300x) is just the number of items sold.
What you need to do is find x(2000-300x)-8(2000-300x) then find the MAX of that equation.
