A) how much must this employee sell in 1 month to earn a total of $3,170 for the month?
The problem I came up with is 3170=1175+5% but don't think that is right

Let the employee sell an amount x in one month
Then, x*(5/100)+1175=3170
x/20=3170-1175
x = 20*1995
x = 39900
