Answer by checkley77(12844)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
.07x+.11(2,000+2x)=3,990
.07x+220+.22x=3,990
.29x=3,990-220
.29x=3,770
x=3,770/.29
x=13,000 ans. for the amount invested @ 7%
2,000+2*13,000=2,000+26,000=28,000 ans. for the amount invested @ 11%.
Proof:
.07*13,000+.11*28,000=3,990
910+3,080=3,990
3,990=3,990
