Mrs Jones invests $4000 at 10% annual return and $6000 at 12% annual return. How much should she invest at 15% return so that her total annual return is 13% of the total amount she has invested?
---------------------
Interest Equation: 0.10(4000)+ 0.12(6000) + 0.15x = 0.13(10,000+x)
Multiply thru by 100 to get:
40000 + 72000 + 15x = 130000+ 13x
2x = 18000
x = $9000
