Question 193185: I guess this is a money problem?
A bank offers 2 checking plans. The Anywhere plan charges 20 cents a check. The other plan Accucheck costs $1.04 month plus 12 cents a check. For what number of checks with the Accucheck plan cost less then the Anywhere plan?
I don't even understand what that means lol. Thanks for the help.
Answer by jonvaliente(64) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let c=no of checks
Anywhere Plan=0.2*c
Accucheck Plan=1.04+0.12*c
We want to find Anywhere Plan>Accucheck Plan, so:
.
Subtracting 0.12c from both sides, we get:
Dividing both sides by 0.08, we get:
So, it requires more than 13 checks for the Accucheck Plan to cost less than the Anywhere Plan.
