Question 127993: My son is home with strep throut and I picked up his homework today. He is working on grade 6 math and I unfortunately am unable to help him, He is working on division. The question is to use a division rule to find each quotient. We are really struggling, can you give us an example of how to solve the problem please:
5.82 divided by 1000, and also an example 7.9 deivided by 100
We have 30 questions and no examples

Each time you divide by , you move the decimal
point 1 place to the left
divide by move decimal point 1 place to left
divide by move dicimal point 2 places to left
divide by move decimal point 3 places to left
etc
So, you can do one step at a time
