When I read your post, my impression is that you incorrectly use the word (the term) "assist".

It would be OK, if you are an expert, like an professional surgeon,
and assisting to you is like a nurse gives you a scalpel during a surgery.

But how you do formulate your needs, it is not "assisting".
It is, literally, to do / (to make) the job instead of you.

I have nothing against it, except only one thing:
your request should be worded adequately.

In this case, it is not about "assisting" : it is about "teaching", or "showing you how to do the job".
