Answer by Boreal(15235) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
7500*35+11250*x=352500, where time and a half is 1.5*7500=11250
262500+11250x=352500
11250x=90000
x=8 hours

Aljur claims he earns $7500 an hour at his job.
------------------------------------------------
What he earns, and what he claims, are two different things.
----------------------------------------------------------------
If he works more than 35 hours in a week, he is paid 1.5 times his regular salary for the overtime hours worked. One week his gross pay was $352500.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
We only KNOW that his normal time is 35 hours and overtime is at 1.5 times the normal hourly rate.
Again we are not actually given his true hourly rate.
-----------------------------------------------
How many overtime hours did he work that week?
----------------------------------------------
This is all that should be done.
w, his actual hourly rate
x, his hours of overtime
35, assumed hours of normal time actually worked
You can solve this for x, and maybe substitute w=7500.
