Mix  x grams of the first alloy with  y grams of the second alloy.


You have then these 2 equations in 2 unknowns


    0.2x  + 0.3y = 118    grams of gold    (1)

    0.15x + 0.5y = 110.5  grams of lead    (2)


Solve the equations by any way you want (you know, you like).


ANSWER.  470 grams of the 1-st alloy and 80 grams of the 2-nd alloy.
