A sponser promised them that for every dollar they raised, he would donate 2 dollars. If the Hometown skates raised 493$, were they able to afford the new equipment?

Then the sponsor will donate them  2*493 = 986 dollars.


Now add 493 and 986 dollars and compare it with $1000.
