Question 1153392: what is the discounted value of deposists of $100.00 made at the end of each month for fourteen years if interest 3.5% compounded monthly.
Answer by Theo(13342)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
i used the following financial calculator to solve this.
https://arachnoid.com/finance/index.html
my inputs were:
pv = 0
fv = 0
np = 14 * 12 = 168
ir = 3.5 / 12 = .29166666667 percent.
pmt = -100 at end of each time period.
i then clicked on pv and the calculator said that the present value is $13,266.39.
here's a display of my inputs and output.

$$$

$$$

the pmt is entered as negative because it's money going out.
the pv is shown as positive because it's money coming in.
