He now has and then spent one third of the remainder in another shop.
Now he has (.75a)
If he had $5.50 left, how much had he at first?
(.75a) = 5.50
2(.25a) = 5.50
.5a = 5.50
a = 5.50/.5
a = $11.00 at first
