Let milage fee = "m"

EQUATION:
2d+100m = 85
3d+400m = 165

Multiply thru the 1st equation by 4 to get:
8d + 400m = 340
3d + 400m = 165

Subtract 2nd from 1st to get:
5d = 175
d = $35 (daily fee)

Substitute into 2d+100m = 85 to solve for "m":
70 + 100m = 85
100m = 15
m = 0.15 (milage fee)
