In accordance with the condition, you can group the banknotes in sets ($5, $5, $10).


Each set is worth 10 + 5 + 5 = 20 dollars, and the number of such sets is   = 35.


So, you have 35 of $10 bills and 70 of $5 dollar bills, in total  35*$10 + 70*$5 = $700.   ! Correct !


Thus you got the mental solution using the grouping method.

The plural of five is fives, not five's.
