Question 1117397: A retailer allows 20% trade discount and 5% cash payment . What will be the marked price of an article for which a customer pays ¥7600?

If the discounts are taken together, this would be 25%, so 25% off x, the marked price=7600
0.75*x=7600
x=7600/0.75=10133.33
If the discounts are taken separately, then for marked price x, the first discount lowers the price to 0.8x. The second is 0.8x*0.95=0.76x=7600
x=10000
