Question 1069330: A stack of $20, $50, and $100 bills was retrieved as part of a police investigation. There were
37 more $50 bills than $100 bills. Also, the number of $20 bills was
5 times the number of $100 bills. If the total value of the money was
$8850, find the number of each type of bill.
Answer by Boreal(15235) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
$100=x
$50=x+37
$20=5x
5x*20+(x+37)*50+100x=8850
100x+50x+1850+100x=8850
250x=7000
x=28 $100=$2800
x+37=65 $50=$3250
5x=140*$20=$2800
That is 233 bills in all as described above with the sum $8850.
