2. Online Purchasing - An online video store charges $24 for each DVD. Shipping costs $4 per order.

b. Find the cost of ordering 3 DVDs.
This is question # 27 on page 16 of same text book.
3. Marine Biology - Write an expression for the number of kilometers a dolphin travels in d hours swimming at 8 km/h. Then find the number of kilometers the dolphin travels in 3 hours.

The owner of a hobby store bought a case of 9-volt batteries for $26.00. He marked the price up such that his profit was $1.74 per battery. After selling 13 batteries, the store owner had recovered his cost. How many 9-volt batteries are in a case?

3x+3(2x-12)=9 y=2(50
3x+6x-36=9 =10-12
9x/9=45/9 = -2
x=5
