Question 985837: The more snowboarders wear helmets the less likely they are to sustain head injuries. In this case, we would say that the correlation coefficient between wearing helmets (or not) and the likeliness of sustaining a head injury is:

The two are strongly correlated in a sense that as one variable goes up, the other variable goes down. As more people wear helmets, the less head injuries we have. The same is true the other way around. The less helmets are worn, the more head injuries we'll have. This inverse relationship points us to a negative correlation
