What is the area in square feet of a room that is (2x - 1) feet wide and (7x + 3) feet long?

The formula for area is A=LW, so you just substitute the values and multiply them out using the distributive property.
(2x-1)(7x+3)=14x^2+6x-7x-3
Simplify the answer by combining like terms
14x^2-x-3
