How much did Kristin spend?
:
Let x = amt that brother Kurt has left
then
3x = amt Kristin has left
:
Bro spends + Kris spends = $14
(10-x) + (20-3x) = 14
30 - 4x = 14
-4x = 14 - 30
-4x = -16
x = $4 has brother Kurt
and
3(4) = $12 has Kris left
therefore
20 - 12 = $8 spent by Kris
