One person can devote 24 hours a week to a project and two others can each devote 30 hours a week to the same project. If the total project requires 420 hours to complete, how many weeks will it take?
Okay. Since there are 3 people working on the same project, you first add them all: 30+30+24. This equals 84. Now, it said how many weeks, so 84x=420, as x = weeks. Divide 84 on each side: 420/84 is 5. it takes 5 weeks to complete the project.
